Carroy O'Riley was born 3 April 2011. His breeder is Lynne Rosebrock of Hounds of Carroy. O"Riley came out a breeding that is related to two of my past hounds and his grand sire was Fleetwind Gordon, a dog I got to know and admire at shows,  His look was very much like that of my previous hound, O'Malley.  Like O'Malley and Lacy II, he shows his Fleetwind breeding, especially in his head.

He came home on 23 July 2011, the last of his litter to leave mom. He came just as I moved into a new house that was starting a complete remodel. O'Riley's first 3 -1/2 months with me were spent in a construction zone with power tools starting up all the time so sudden unexpected noises are taken in stride. He grew up going to the dog park at least 4 days a week and has become a common sight walking the isles of Home depot and the streets of Flagstaff.  As a result he is very well socialized both with other dogs and people he does not know.  But he does know every Home depot associate that keeps dog treats in their apron and knows he has to sit for the first treat and if a second is coming he needs to lay down for it.

Weather permitting he gets a morning walk & run through the woods and his evening after my dinner walk around the block.  He is the first dog I have trained not to get up on the bed or furniture.  But he does have 3 large wolfhound size beds in different locations throughout the house.

O'Riley's first dog show at age 14 months.  He was entered into the dogs 12 mo to 18 Mo class. O'Riley was awarded a blue ribbon on 9 June 2012 (Judge - Patricia Trotter) and on 10 June was awarded a blue ribbon and a Reserve winners dog ribbon (Judge - Connie Gard).
